Kingdom Championships: ROYAL LANCER (details pending)

Bordermarch Baronial Bardic Championships:
2026 Bardic Competition Theme: "Second Chances" (Updated 9.16.26) Miyamoto Toromasa Current Champion "Second Chances" Bring us a tale of where someone gets a second chance at something. Adult Bards - You get 2 shots at your entry. Must be a different piece but two attempts possible. Youth Bards - You can make the attempt twice, using the same piece. You can ask for help from an adult bard for 15 minutes before trying again. Bordermarch Championship starts Saturday at 11:00am-12:30 for Youth and 12:30 - 2pm for Adults- in the Plaza!

Bordermarch A&S Championship: “The Art & Science of Making”
Theme:What did they know? How did they know it? How did they put that knowledge to work?

Bragging Rights Competitions:

Char Wars! Theme: Big Chunks of Meat!
Requirements: Main Ingredients - Pork or Beef (No Chicken, Duck or Turkey) (Message John Engelke (Wolf) on FB if you are thinking about game meat options) 5 pound minimum!
Must have ingredient list (exact measurements not required) Turn in between 1:15-1:45p Saturday @ Plaza de Bordermarch (By Merchants Row) Judging @ 2pm same location.
Judging this year is based on smell, taste, and tenderness. Pre-cooking before the event is acceptable. Two baskets for this years' winners, and of course, the giant heavy-weight champion belt!
Char Wars IIII will be in the Plaza this year!

IKBG: Inter Kingdom Brewing Guild Judging - Saturday at 1pm in Mystic Oak Tavern - see IKBG website for more info: https://www.greydragon.org/ikbg/index.html
The IKBG is also NOT (and has NOT EVER tried to be) an "A&S" competition in the traditional sense of A&S within the SCA. The SCA, in all the various A&S competitions, is focused on "authenticity" and "period techniques". These competitions, and the preparation for them, strive to enrich a brewer's experience of "living within the period setting" but can sometimes limit the opportunities for 'experimentation', especially with regards to the ingredients. In contrast, the IKBG, being focused on the product itself and its drinkability, provides a place for brewers to have their beverages evaluated by other brewers in a forum that is focused on the beverage, rather than on the documentation and "authenticity" of the beverage. We hope that this provides a complementary aspect to the normal judging that happens in an A&S competition.
 Ansteorra Scribal Challenge 2026! It's back and ready for your amazing scribal art and Sponsored Challenges! The goal of this event is to encourage scribes of ALL skill levels to produce original blank scrolls for Kingdom use for awards. It's a mix of populace vote BUT ALSO various Challenges issued by groups or individuals from across Ansteorra! Display scrolls Friday in the Scribal tent on artisians Row(Optional). Entries due at the BFT on Saturday at 11am. Populace judging 1pm-4pm
