SCA  PREPARATION  CHECKLIST   (2-3 weeks before)

DOCUMENTS
SCA Member Card
Fighter Authorization Card = Everything current for the event?
Is there a downloadable PDF event guidebook?

TENT & BEDDING
Sleeping bag and / or bedding clean?  Bringing pillow(s)?
If you use an air mattress, fill it and check for leaks.
Do you have a power converter for your air mattress pump that plugs into your car power outlet?
If you use a cot, do you have enough rubber foot pads for each leg?
(This is to protect the canvas or nylon tent floor from the cot’s feet.)
Set up the tent to let it air out.  Check the inventory of stakes and paracord.
Your ground tarp should be slightly larger in size than the floor of the tent

TOOLS
Inventory everything in your tool kit (if you bring one for repairs, etc.)
Charge the batteries If you have any rechargeable tools (drill, etc.)
Drill bits for your drill

MISC
FOR YOUR VEHICLE:   Check the air in all tires including the spare
Check the oil, coolant and wiper fluid levels
Check all brake, turning indicator, headlights and running lights
Bringing a battery-operated fan?  Bring spare batteries
Check the supplies in your First Aid Kit incl. Dermend Gel for bruises, etc.
Bring a case of water for your own use
Biodegradable “Wet Wipes”

ARMOR & WEAPONS
Check & leather balm all straps on armor, helmet and shield
Check shield rim, and tighten any loose bolts
Check all padding in armor and helmet
On your weapons check all stabbing tips, duct tape for wear, baskets for any loose movement & verify your lanyards are attached

CHIV. COMBAT
Helmet, Gorget and Head wrap / scarf
Body armor
Personal Protection (groin cup, etc.)
Arm and Leg Armor
Hand Protection i.e. gloves, gauntlets etc.
Combat Boots (steel toed boots are highly suggested!)
Your Shield(s)
Scabbard & belt if you wear one
Weapons (sword, mace, axe, spear, etc.)

MISC.
Clothes to wear at the event, plus period boots & shoes
Casual clothes & shoes for going into town when necessary
“Rough” clothes & shoes for setup and tear-down
Your belt(s) and whatever pouch(es) you use for carrying everything.
Feast gear including your tankard and its belt strap
Awards, Medallions, etc.
